02-11-06 - Last Saturday, February 11th, our featured tier / instructor was Tom
Cormier. Tom's been tying flies for over forty years and is one of the production tiers who has tied thousands of flies for our shop. He is one of the most creative tiers that I've
met and is constantly inventing and testing new patterns. One of the patterns Tom tied was the Two Feather fly. This is an old pattern that I feel has been overlooked by many
trout fisherman and is an excellent method for imitating all of the large mayflies.

02-04-06 - This past Saturday, Joe Calcavechiaa was our featured tier / instructor. Joe
has been tying flies commercially for over 20 years and has been teaching people to tie for almost as long. His flies are sought after by striper fisherman along the entire
eastern seaboard and are among some of our top selling patterns, not just because of their beauty and ruggedness, but because they catch fish.

01-28-06 - Our featured tier/instructor today was Wayne Bickford. Wayne started tying
flies in 1972 and has been working at Eldredge Bros. for the past nine years. Wayne has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the history and the correct methods for
tying salmon flies and New England streamer patterns. Today he instructed the class on how to tie 3 streamers that are proven patterns for fishing Maine and New Hampshire
waters. They were; the Kennebago Smelt, the Winnipesauke Smelt, and the Magog Smelt which is one of my personal favorites for fishing the Moosehead region.

01-21-06 - Yesterdays featured tier / instructor was John Kelleher who taught a full class
how to tie the RM Soft Short. This is a lobster fly that John once used to catch two striped bass over 40 inches on the same day. Some of his friends will tell you that he is
"wicked fussy" but we like to say he has a natural attention to detail. It is because of this attention to detail and the many years he has spent mastering flytying that resulted in
most of the students leaving the class with near perfect flies.
01-14-06 - Joe Sowerby was our featured tyer for todays full day tying class. Joe is not
just a master fly tier and designer, he's also an outfitter in Montana and spends more time on the water guiding than anyone I know. It was very interesting to hear his thoughts
on fly design as well as to hear how the flies that we tied had evolved through the years. I can't wait to try them out on our home waters.

01-08-06 - Our featured tier / instructor at yesterdays Fly Tying Jamboree was Jeff
Faulkner. Jeff is a registered Maine Guide who excels at fly tying. All who have seen and fished with his flies agree. He has tied thousands of flies for our shop and has been
teaching others to tie for many years. During yesterdays class he taught students to tie steelhead patterns for fishing the great lakes tributaries.
